The Central Testing Scientist Level 1 for Leica Biosystems is responsible for performing a wide variety of assays or tests to support Quality Control or Stability Studies required within the Central Testing Department.
This position is part of the Central testing department which is a department within technical services located at the Newcastle manufacturing Centre and will be a site-based role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
You will be a part of the Central testing team and report to the Lead Scientist responsible for the central testing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Ensure Quality Control and Stability Study tasks are completed according to agreed timelines.
- Assist in planning and preparation activities
- Ensure stability study / quality control units are aliquoted and stored in the designated locations in a timely manner
- Support R&D and PLCM project activities, when required, outside of Central Testing.
- Routine lab duties including laboratory equipment maintenance
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Degree in biomedical science or relevant work experience
- Good organizational skills and time management
- Some relevant laboratory experience.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Histology experience including microtomy, manual / automated IHC staining and slide screening.
- Experience of GMP and GDP
