The Legal and Compliance Department is charged with day-to-day oversight and coordination of the Firm’s compliance with core regulatory requirements covering all businesses including Institutional Sales
and Trading (fixed income, commodities, equities), Investment Banking, Research, Investment Management, and the Infrastructure Divisions.

Morgan Stanley's Global Privacy Compliance Program aims to promote fair, transparent, and lawful practices related to the processing of Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) to support clients, business growth and foster a culture of trust. The Privacy Compliance Director will focus on assisting with the management of the privacy program’s including risks and controls assessments, monitoring and testing, training, policies and procedures, and governance activities for key meetings.

What will you be doing?

    Liaising with enterprise compliance teams as the SME for privacy risks, controls, monitoring and testing

    Participating in firm-wide risk assessments processes to assess privacy risks and controls and producing guidance for BU/Regional Privacy Leads

    Keeping abreast of regulatory changes that impact the Firm’s privacy risks and controls

    Assisting with gap analysis and implementation of controls for new rules

    Working with multiple stakeholders across the firm to periodically update the Global Data Protection and Privacy Policy and Global Privacy Training

    Confirming that procedures are in place to support the Global Data Protection and Privacy and supporting the central privacy notice library

    Assisting with Firmwide training

    Supporting the secretary of the Global Data Protection and Privacy Committee (GDPPC)

    Undertaking reporting and ad-hoc projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What we’re looking for:

    Knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulations globally

    Prior role in compliance, risk management, legal or related function involving PII

    Experience with risk assessments and monitoring/testing

    Ability to collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams/individuals at all levels

    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    Demonstrated organizational skills, proactive work ethic and team player mindset
