STAR of California is looking for qualified Behavior Technicians (ABA therapists) in our Fremont center where you can provide state of the art behavioral services to children with autism that help us in Transforming Lives Together! Professional experience with children or special needs is required.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Qualifications
Proof of high school diploma or BA/BS degree in Psychology, Education, or Special Education or related field. Candidates with incomplete degrees will be considered based on experience or RBT Certification- Transportation with a Valid CA Driver's License & Proof of auto liability insurance
- Min 1 year of professional experience with children or special needs is required for all Behavior Technician positions
- Ability to sustain energy level that can keep up with active children
- Ability to lift, pull and/or push at least 30 lbs
- Proof of Covid vaccination and annual booster required
- Proof of Flu vaccination

Responsibilities and Daily Tasks
Working under the direction of a program supervisor you will teach clients how to communicate, play, make friends, and function more independently, while helping resolve challenging behaviors- Collect, organize, and summarize behavioral data on child's treatment goals
- Toilet and/or change soiled diapers/clothing
- Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with referred client's caregiver(s)
- Organize and clean therapy space at the end of each session
- Update program book on a daily basis for assigned child
- Participate in Clinical Review meetings for all individuals on assigned caseload
- Participate in all staff trainings and completing monthly self-monitoring program
- Punch in and out every day on time clock, as well as for lunch breaks
- Actively participate in monthly staff meetings
- 6-month commitment period to stay with the company
- Full ABA training to ensure you are ready on day one!
Other Responsibilities: Performance of other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Supervision: ABA Therapist reports directly to the Supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak, and listen to children. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to push items of 50 lbs. Such as pushing children on a bike, pulling a wagon or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision
