Due to the expansion of services and the extension of the Cemetery grounds, a position has arisen within Bereavement Services to join the team based at Carleton Cemetery, owned and operated by Blackpool Council.
We currently carry out approximately 2200 cremation services and approximately 400 burials each year and we are looking for someone to work as a member of our team, supporting the day-to-day running of the service, providing a professional and supportive service to all of our customers and stakeholders.
This is a varied role. You will be expected to undertake a wide range of tasks including general grounds maintenance, gardening, grave digging and memorial safety checks.
As well as working within the Cemetery, you will be expected to cover colleague's absence in the crematorium, carrying out cremations and covering chapel services.
You will need to be physically fit and able to lift all necessary equipment.
Working hours cover Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work, as additional hours dictated by the needs of the service may be required, which will include some Saturday cover and work outside of the hours already stated.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, a caring and sympathetic manner is required for this role.
