Cell Culture Reagent Scientist - Full Time - Fordingbridge, Hants
Working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, focused on cell culture reagent technologies, you will both lead and support a variety of scientific projects and work in support of our R&D, manufacturing, quality and commercial organisations.
You'll have strong scientific skill sets, be team orientated, able to work cross-functionally but also comfortable working independently; and will have experience in cell culture, SOP development, be familiar with working to ISO standards and ideally have an understanding of cell culture media, reagent development and manufacturing.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- supporting experimental design, performing designated project experiments and managing timelines.
- Identifying and helping solve problems associated with product development and reagent validation.
- Leading the preparation of reports and presentations to communicate findings to a wider audience or approve those written by others in the group.
- Developing manufacturing processes for any new products developed.
- Supporting Application experiments and training of new products.
- Producing batches of cell culture reagents
- Dispensing, labelling and producing final product
- Performing necessary experiments to affirm product quality and function
- Following, maintaining, and developing, when needed, laboratory and/or production-based SOPs
- Using standard and analytical balances for measuring and dispensing chemicals and/or powders
- Performing standard safety and basic laboratory maintenance
Essential criteria
- Excellent attention to detail and proficient in maintaining accurate written records.
- Familiar with laboratory safety protocols and able to support daily/weekly laboratory maintenance.
- Familiar running experiments and recording data
- Familiarity with weighing and dispensing liquids and powders
- Experienced in liquid handling (Pipetting)
- Familiarity with following SOPs
- Familiar with scientific calculations (e.g. moles)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and process-driven skills
- Able to multi-task and work cross-functionally within the company
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities
- A-level / Bachelor Degree in a related subject or equivalent years lab experience
- Must be able to work in a laboratory biosafety hood, with instrumentation and understand and use all safety elements
