An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our long standing clients who are a specialist CDM and Safety Consultancy working on multiple projects covering Civil Engineering, M&E Structural works, Water Engineering, Flood Defenses, Drainage other Government Agency construction work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to join a well-established and expanding team with the opportunity for further career development around the North East region.
Duties and responsibilities:
This role will suit an organised, dynamic, and communicative person with a keen eye for detail to establish a robust CDM / Health and Safety regime with important clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing:
- Lead CDM Advisor and Principal Designer or Principal Designer Advisor (PDA) services on complex projects and a variety of other schemes for a wide range of clients, architects, and contractors.
- Lead advisor for CDM compliance on low to high complexity projects provided via major term contracts.
- Liaise with clients and designers and provide practical CDM / PDA advice.
- Carry out site safety inspections and CDM compliance audits.
- Prepare technical progress reports.
- Promote strong partnerships working to achieve objectives.
- Be able to draft and amend H&S/ CDM procedures for implementation by Clients of all descriptions.
- The ideal candidate will have a sound working knowledge of the CDM Regulations and other Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and be familiar with procurement processes sufficient to be able to clearly understand the construction sequence / methodology.
- The candidate must have previous experience of providing CDM services.
- They will have a confident and approachable personality that invokes trust and respect both internally and within a project team.
- The candidate will have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and have experience of using the MS Office and SharePoint/Teams.
- They will be able to take full advantage of the committed technical support and team, being well organised and methodical in their approach.
- A NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar with minimum 5 years’ experience in a consultancy environment is essential.
- IMaPS or CMaPS a must, however, lapsed memberships will be considered.
- A professional with both health and safety and professional or technical construction related qualifications would be advantageous.
- Ideally, they will hold a recognised technical background or qualification.
- CSCS card an advantage.
