Our Head Office CCTV & Police Liaison department is now looking for a CCTV & Police Liaison Officer to join our busy team! The role will be responsible of providing CCTV access and footage to stakeholders when required, whilst maintaining procedural compliance. You will also be the main point of contact for password reset and liaising with the police and onsite CCTV engineers. This role will support our Next Level Inventory projects which will utilise CCTV to identify internal and external theft. The ideal candidate will have previous background with CCTV systems, have great attention to details and be a great communicator.

Some occasional overnight travel will be required for your development to understand how our business operates. This could be visiting our stores or Regional Distribution Centres to see their processes.

We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles. This role will be able to work from home two days a week after training and must be able to demonstrate an appropriate working space. This includes sufficient monitor(s) to view CCTV and a space where your screen(s) cannot be seen by others in the property.

The team and CCTV team operates between 8am – 6pm Monday to Thursday and 8am – 5pm Fridays with all team member covering these hours within the office on a rota basis.

What you'll do


  • Analyse data which helps identifies internal or external fraud and use that data to investigate the activity using CCTV footage. If the footage confirms fraud has taken place, create an investigation packs or witness statements that can be used internally during disciplinary proceedings or to provide to the police
  • Investigate potential fraud of theft identified by our regional or Head Office Colleagues
  • Manage day to day CCTV password requests and revokes within the specified time/period and maintain accurate logs of all activities
  • Action all footage requests for the police/insurance/trading compliance/internal investigation/subject access requests (SAR) within a time sensitive manner and be proactive in informing relevant departments of incidents where required
  • Use redaction software to redact footage for all SAR requests to ensure compliance with GDPR
  • Communicate with engineers/police/store/Regional Distribution Centre colleagues to aid with CCTV requests/queries
  • Assist engineers with setting up store CCTV systems and ensuring the correct users are created
  • Understand internal processes sufficiently enough to provide a decisive review of any accusations that fraudulent activity has occurred
  • Work independently to ensure requests are prioritised appropriately depending on the retention of footage available and the licensing conditions stipulated
  • Maintaining accurate retention periods within folders
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders (Police, Head of HR etc.) in a professional and informative manner
  • Assisting with the training of CCTV colleagues and educating all relevant stakeholders on CCTV systems and processes
  • Conduct CCTV integrity checks of all systems and log any issues

What you'll need


  • Previous experience using CCTV systems
  • Strong written skills when drafting investigation packs or witness statements that can be used internally during disciplinary proceedings or to provide to the police
  • A good positive, can-do attitude who seeks to identify solutions to problems
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to prioritise effectively and strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build successful stakeholder relationships
  • Driving licence is desirable
  • German language skills are beneficial but not essential
