Are you an enthusiastic CBT Therapist who wishes to make a difference to patients with long term mental health problems, providing evidence-based treatments across Oxfordshire?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our service as a CBT Therapist. This is a key role to be part of the continuing development of psychological therapies within the integrated Adult Mental Health Teams (AMHTs) in Oxfordshire.
In this role, you will:
- Work as part of the locality psychological therapies team within the Adult Mental Health Team, seeing patients individually and in groups, providing formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems.
- Be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
- Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning the patients mental health difficulties.
- Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to the wider Adult Mental Health Team to help develop their patients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Receive professional clinical supervision for yourself from other appropriately trained senior psychological therapy staff.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of the teams operational practices to ensure high quality, responsive and accessible services are available.

- Sound clinical risk assessment and management.

- Supervising and consulting with therapists, trainees or other clinical staff as appropriate to the role.
- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
