To carry out all aspects of the catering service. Be polite and able to use own initiative when and where appropriate. Able to work as part of a team and on their own. The postholder is required to work as part of a team to deliver a quality service as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by Supervisory staff. Catering Assistants will work between the Kitchen, Dining Rooms & Retail Outlets and Wards:
- Supporting the delivery of catering services to patients, staff, visitors and for functions within the hospital.
- Regeneration of patients meals either centrally or at ward level.
- Plating patient meals at the point of service as advised by nursing staff.
- Cleaning and wash-up of all equipment, machinery, and crockery associated with catering services.
- Assist food production staff with the basic preparation of meals.
- Training will be provided for all aspects within the position
