Job description
Following the successful opening of our brand-new state-of-the-art hospital situated in the SA1 area of Swansea, we are looking for experienced, and motivated Catering staff to join our busy and diverse Catering Department.
The successful post holder will maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the Catering Department and to serve meals to patients and you will play an integral role within the team in ensuring that the food prepared and delivered is of the highest quality

All food is cooked fresh each day and served to Patients and Staff. The Catering Assistants have a varied role from serving Patients on the Ward to Preparing Sandwiches and Desserts for Patients and Staff. There is also a small Coffee Shop and a Coffee area in Reception which is maintained by the Catering team.
Skills
You will work 5 x 7.5 hour shifts per week over a 7 day period working alternating weekends.
To be responsible for keeping canteen and theatre staff room clean and tidy.
To ensure all patients’ meals and beverages are correctly received and collected when finished.
To take daily recordings of food temperatures and keep records.
To be responsible for ordering of patient meals and to maintain an effective system of communication with the Kitchen and Nursing Staff with regard to patients’ dietary requirements.
To be responsible for ordering all provisions from main kitchen to keep the kitchenette stocked as required.
To participate in the cleaning of the kitchen/kitchenette and associated areas.
You will be required to work flexibility within our Catering department in a variety of duties within the role to ensure that all areas of the hospital are presented to a high standard for patients and visitors.
