Position Overview:

We are looking for a 30-hour Catering Assistant to join our catering team on a permanent basis This role will act as a floater and will be key to assisting in the provision of catering services across our three South Shields sites.

Full training will be provided (Hygiene Certificate).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Services provided are to be made promptly, efficiently and speedily
• Responsible for the provision of tea, coffee, soft drinks, confectionery and a palatable variety of sandwiches and light bites /teas are to be made available to any member of staff who requires that service
• To arrange for the vending machines to be adequately stocked from time to time
• Upon receipt of timely catering request forms to serve at meetings when requested
• After receiving payment, administer written records, all monies to be kept safe and banked in a secure fashion as agreed from time to time with the Finance Director
• Stock ordering & rotation
• Completing all checks/updating all records in line with Health & Safety guidelines
• Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management

Skills and Experience:

• Experience within a similar role would be an advantage but not essential
• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Competent level of customer service skills
• Smart appearance
