Action for Children

Category Officer.

Salary: c£30,300 per annum.

Location: Homebased.

Contract: Permanent.

A bit about the role

The successful candidate will provide strategic procurement activities to maximise efficiencies to enable resources to be redirected to the children, young people, and families who we support.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Contribute to all stages of the tender procurement process, achieved through compiling and maintaining documentation for procurement processes, advertisement preparation, contract award and ongoing management of the contracts.
  • Apply professional procurement practices, informed through the latest developments and efficiencies in the field of procurement.
  • Capture key performance data to monitor and inform supplier performance.
  • Produce scheduled and ad-hoc compliance management.
  • Retain the central register of main contracts as well as other appropriate databases for key suppliers and main contractors.
  • Ensure adequate arrangements are in place for an effective meeting i.e., online/ venue organisation, minuting, follow up action and agenda creation etc.
  • Contribute and influence effective and efficient procurement practice across the organisation.

Let's talk about you

  • Willingness to work to achieve Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification (CIPS).
  • Experience across procurement and/or supply chain management within a complex organisation.
  • Experience managing effective relationships with suppliers across a range of goods and services, including demonstrable negotiation skills.
  • Experience in supporting procurement with tender process.
  • Working cross functionally, demonstrating collaborative and engagement skills and experience.
  • Effective team player and capable of working without regular supervision.
