WHAT TO EXPECT
This position sits within the Engineering Services Procurement team who are responsible for purchasing services for Jaguar Land Rover to support production. Working with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to purchase services and agree Procurement strategies, this role will deliver value for money and fit for purpose solutions.
In this role you will have the opportunity to develop strategic category plans in line with sourcing and strategy requirements, aligned with stakeholders’ needs and requirements. You will do this by working with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to purchase tools and services whilst delivering value for money and fit for purpose solutions. You will engage closely with key stakeholders to maximise Purchasing influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy.
You will manage supplier relationships through the SRM process or Business Reviews and will support the development of the optimal supply base in line with the Strategic Category Plans (SCP). In addition to this, you will complete strategic sourcing activities with optimum commercial outcome for the business and contribute to the management, planning and delivery of the annual value added savings.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Previous experience as a Buyer in indirect procurement
A proven track record in a purchasing environment
Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers
Broad experience of external contracts
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
An individual, who works independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
Desirable:
Engineering background
Ability to be highly organised and continually focus on attention to detail
An individual with the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
Relevant degree or equivalent experience
