Position: Casual Support Worker

Location: Northampton

Hours: Zero hour contract (Mon-Sun, including weekends, evenings, holidays)

Salary: £11.92 per hour inclusive of holiday pay or, £10.64 per hour exclusive of holiday pay

Advance is looking for Casual Support Workers in Northampton to support customers with Learning Disabilities/ Autism/ Complex needs/ mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. To include:

  • Support adults with mental health and learning difficulties – need some knowledge around mental health
  • Expected to work in customers own homes
  • Outreach support
  • Expected to travel throughout the town and to and from customers
  • We reimburse for any travel expenses and bus fares
  • Driving essential and need business insurance
  • We support our customers with various tasks such as supporting with daily living tasks, attending appointments, correspondence, dealing with benefits, cooking, shopping, social inclusion activities, prompting with medication
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • NVQ desirable

About the candidate

You don’t need to have previous experience working in care or support to be successful in this role. What matters are your values, your passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with Autism or learning disabilities.

  • Good at working on your own and within a team
  • Excellent at communicating with people
  • Able to complete good quality support records
  • Flexible and being able to work with a diverse group of customers
  • Good communication
  • Good time management
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Experience in care/support desirable
  • Mental health knowledge and experience
  • Need access to own vehicle and business insurance
  • NVQ desirable
