We are currently recruiting for a Night Porter on a casual hour’s basis at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel.
Stanbrook Abbey Hotel in Worcester has recently had a £4.2m renovation, meticulously designed to celebrate the country house hotel’s heritage, and introduced the new brasserie-style dining experience in The Refectory restaurant, situated in the site of the original nun’s cafeteria, as well as eight new bedrooms situated on the second floor with a further seven rooms built in the original schoolhouse in St Anne’s Wing, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 70.

As a Night porter you will work alongside another colleague every night to look after our guests and the Hotel providing high standards of service and hospitality.
As a Night porter you will give a warm welcome to any guests arriving late, getting to know what someone needs before they even know it themselves, leaving them impressed, reassured, and most importantly, feeling at home. It doesn’t matter if they’re first time visitors or returning guests, you’ll charm them from the initial welcome to the “Good Night or Have a safe journey” with your impeccable standards of service.
Ensuring safety and security is a main priority for our Night Porters but they are also expert all-rounders helping to fulfil many different roles whilst they are on shift, such as working on the bar, cleaning and sanitising public areas in the Hotel, setting up conference rooms and delivering room service food orders. If you enjoy being busy whilst most other people are sleeping then we would welcome you to apply.
This is a casual hours contract that involves working shifts from 10.30pm to 7.00am.
About you:
- You’ll enjoy working nights and experience in a similar role or in a bar is beneficial, however full training will be given
- You’ll be someone who remains calm under pressure and is able to take any challenges in your stride
- You’ll enjoy making guests feel welcome and at home, and will develop a thorough knowledge of our of hotel products and services
- You’ll be excellent at building a rapport with new and returning guests
- You’ll take pride in your appearance, as the face of Hand Picked Hotels
- Most of all, you’ll have a friendly, welcoming and genuine manner
