Job Introduction

Our Team:

You’ll be a part of the Mother&Baby and Yours editorial team, who look after content strategy, social media, newsletters and commercial content. Creating new ideas across brand from a brand and wider search perspective, the team’s main focus for this team is leading Bauer’s investment in the monetisation of its web content via the exciting and increasingly important affiliate revenue channel. Responsible for the creation of new, and optimisation of existing content across Mother&Baby. The team are constantly exploring content and commercial strategies to maximise engagement and revenues. A part of the editorial teams strategy is to source, research and review products that our audiences will be interested in buying. We look to support parents from all walks of life, supporting them with tips and advice before, during and after pregnancy, and helping to find the best products for our little ones and to help along this mammoth journey we call parenting.

The focus of your role:

The Commercial Content Writer is responsible for ensuring that Mother&Baby can maximise the best possible affiliate revenue from its partners. This involves creating content and continually optimising content designed to deliver direct revenue, maximising the audience which sees it and the conversion to a sale. In addition, it will be a crucial part of this role to support with creating new ideas, thinking with an inclusive mindset to help all our parents and share this content on social media.

Reporting into the Digital Group Editor and working closely with the SEO team, you will create and execute plans for affiliate led content on Mother&Baby, thinking about things like trending topics, top product suggestions and celebrity best buys.

Role Responsibility

  • Creating and optimising content designed to deliver affiliate revenue
  • Helping grow revenue and affiliate activity across Mother&Baby
  • Researching and sourcing new affiliate opportunities
  • Working to agreed key article output
  • Staying up to date with the latest affiliate marketing trends, celebrity best buys, parenting tips and best product suggestions
  • Working with the Central Affiliate team at times to create content for bigger seasonal events
  • Continually optimising existing content to maximise traffic and affiliate click-through
  • Supporting meeting the ROI and sales targets through affiliate channels and partnerships

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – including content creation and optimisation
  • A keen interest in content creation and the wider digital industry
  • An understanding of SEO
  • Extensive experience in navigating the Amazon website
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A good working understanding of social media, especially Facebook and Instagram
  • Strong people skills
  • Experience in working with a content management system (CMS)
  • Desirable – experience in using image editing software
  • Desirable - experience in driving affiliate revenue in an agency/retailer or publisher environment would be a bonus
  • Desirable – a working knowledge of major analytics programs e.g. Google Analytics, Looker, CrowdTangle
  • Willing to learn about and have some sort of knowledge about - affiliate marketing and online partnerships/trends
