Chertsey Museum is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and friendly individual with a knowledge of the local area and a passion for its history to join our small team of dedicated staff.
You will be part of a team of individuals who are asked to work Saturday hours and occasional other cover within the museum. You will either be based in a front of house reception area, greeting visitors on their arrival and ensuring a great visitor experience is had by all, or you will be based in our archives, depending on where cover is needed. Our research room is open to the public on Saturdays and it is the casual museum assistant’s job to ensure access to our collections for visiting researchers.
You should have experience of working in a customer services environment, be well organised, IT literate and numerate and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role will also include some manual handling.
Hours are on a casual basis, with the team rota set 8 weeks in advance. Saturday hours would be 10.45am to 4.15pm
