Job description
We are looking for a Cashier Assistant to join our Finance Department.
Whether you currently work in finance role, have prior experience, or just want to kick start your career and study for a finance qualification, this could be the opportunity for you!
Joining our fast-paced Finance team offers you the exciting opportunity to work alongside experts in their field, all while working just 6 hours per day.
Our Legal Cashier team manages the daily bank transactions paid to the company from our client's customers. As a Cashier, you'll collaborate with experienced colleagues to ensure the highest level of quality so that transactions are seamlessly processed and reconciled in a controlled, effective and efficient manner.
We operate to SRA accountancy rules and principles, so you will be developed to understand the importance of the reporting, compliance, and the relevant SRA rules.

Your working week will be 6 hours per day between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, on an agreed weekly shift pattern. When you join the Finance team, you will have agreed start times subject to the departmental rota, with 6 hour shifts beginning at 8am, 9am and 10am.
With a starting salary between £18,500-£19,500 dependent on experience, as a Cashier you will have a clear progressive career path with regular performance-based reviews which reward success in the role.

What you will be doing:
- Processing files for direct debit collections
- Downloading bank transactions accurately and reconciling to our client accounts
- Posting cash to client cases on the Liberate system
- Processing chargebacks and direct debit reversals
- Overseeing cash allocation queries internally and from customers
- Ensuring adherence to rules of regulators, ensuring our continued compliance
We ask you to have the following skills and experience:
- Great attention to detail
- Can work well under pressure
- Experience of using Microsoft Excel
- Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4 or above
- Prior work experience in a finance or cashier role
While not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:
- Studied a finance qualification (or ambitious to do so in the future)
- Experience of dealing with confidential information
- Knowledge of rules GDPR, Anti Money Laundering
