Online Tutor Wanted: English, Maths and the Sciences
We are currently seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as an online tutor in the following areas:
- English Key Stage 2, 3, 4 (GCSE English Language and Literature), and 11+/13+ English
- Maths Key Stages 2, 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level)
- Sciences: Chemistry, Biology, Physics: Key Stages 2, 3, 4 (GCSE), and 5 (A-Level).
As an online tutor, you will teach students following the UK school’s curriculum. We have opportunities for 1-to-1 Tutorial sessions, and small groups (up to 6 students). Classes are normally 1 hour, plus preparation time and assignment marking. These are remote, part-time positions, allowing you to work flexibly from home.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging and interactive online tutoring sessions, in line with the UK school curriculum.
- Create personalized lesson plans and learning materials tailored to students’ academic needs and goals.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve and accelerate their learning.
- Prepare your own lesson material for each session.
- Grade student assignment works, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Utilize digital teaching and learning technologies such as Zoom, Google Drive, and various social networking platforms to deliver effective online lessons.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in subject area or a related field (or currently studying as an under/postgraduate major in English, Math or the Sciences).
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity and comfort with digital teaching and learning technology, including Zoom, Google Drive, and SNS platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students in an online learning environment.
- Flexibility with working hours to accommodate students' schedules, with students calling in from various time-zones.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet work environment.
Remittance & Benefits
- Hourly rate of 20 pounds onwards - depending on experience and qualifications
