Looking for Part Time Front End Cashiers- Join a thriving cooperative grocery community and ensure that each customer has an exceptional experience throughout their transaction at the register and while at the front of the store. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to make beverages at our Cafe area.
Reports To: Front End Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Starting Wage Scale: $14.70 - 15.70/hour

Front End Cashiers are primarily responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service through register transactions. They are also responsible for general sales floor and front end cleanliness and organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Experience
- Exceed our customers' expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment for all people and all diverse backgrounds
- Model, provide, and ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and courteaous services in a professional manner that demonstrates our cooperative advantage.
- Offer suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products.
Front End
- Check out customer purchases quickly and accurately, using correct prices PLU's, and departments.
- Load customer purchases into bags with efficiency and care, and help customers transprot their purchases to their vehicle.
- Assist customers with special order placement and pickup.
- Explain and promote ownership and receive ownership payments.
- Complete returns within established guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Retail or cashier experience preferred.
- Have or be able to obtain, within 14 days of start date, a valid Food Handler's Certificate or Food Management Certificate. (If trained to cover Cafe breaks)
- Language ability - comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Communicate effectively and respecfully in oral or written from to staff and customers of diverse backgrounds.
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Customer service skills - ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations. Communicate responsibly.
- Respond promptly to requests for customer assistance.
- Quality of work - demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Apply feedback to imporve performance.
- Quality of work - work quickly and accurately wiht a sense of urgency.
- Preferred - experience in or knowledge of the natural food industry.
