Speedway is a fast-growing company in the Vestal, NY area looking for a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers with a smile. Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. You should be available to take early morning shifts occasionally. Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
- Collect payments whether in cash or credit
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- Maintain accurate record of customer payments, addresses, payments made and total sales paid
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
Skills/Requirements
- Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role in sales department or store management team required. Sales experience preferred but not required. Must be able to work on your feet for most of the shift. Must be able to lift up to 20lbs. Must have reliable transportation to/from work. Must be able to work on your feet for an 8 hour shift.
