Junior Legal Cashier
Brand new position has become available with our client who is expanding in their teams, now they are looking for a Junior Legal Cashier.
An Award-winning company who treats their staff impeccably well.
The role will require you to work under the supervision of the Senior Legal Cashier in managing all financial transactions generated by the company, and ensuring the same are managed within the SRA’s accounts rules. You will assist with the monitoring of all bank accounts and processing financial requests in a timely manner, including contacting clients when necessary.

The Role
- Assisting with the processing of financial transactions for the law firm
- Cashiering, banking, and raising ad hoc cheques
- Checking email inboxes and dealing with communication appropriately
- Keeping the invoice system up to date
- Keeping the archive of completed matters up to date and restoring matters when required
- Attending the bank to deposit payments
- Liaising with the Compliance Officer and finance team, reporting any breaches and keeping the risk register updated
- Liaise with fee earners and support staff to ensure finance processes are embedded
- Working in a fast paced, busy environment
- Being able to prioritise work loads
- Provision of general administration assistance to the department
About You
- The ability to work well under pressure and towards tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills
- Highly numerate
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with an eye for detail
- The ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the firm, with clients and external contacts
- Good time keeper
- A good team player, but also the ability to work on own initiative
- Good data input skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
- Flexible approach to work
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s – Grade C and above (or equivalent) in Maths and English are essential
- Experience of working with Eclipse Proclaim Management Software is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience working within a finance department of a law firm is desirable but not essential
- Experience of working to SRA Accounts Rules is desirable but not essential
