Case Preparer

About the Role:

This role provides the opportunity to take on an important role within Scotland’s sole prosecution service; providing support to our lawyers in making recommendations on criminal proceedings in cases. We are looking for people who are motivated by justice with an understanding of law in Scotland, to join our High Court Sexual Offences team as a Case Preparer.

Within the team, you will be working collaboratively with your peers and a range of knowledgeable external stakeholders to provide support to the business in delivering justice for local communities.

You should be passionate about serving the public interest at all times; organised and confident in taking decisions; working autonomously and making recommendations based on assessment of all the available evidence; and be committed to meeting the diverse needs of victims and witnesses.

During your first few months in the role, you can expect to work in the office full time, giving you the opportunity to shadow and learn from other members of the team, while you develop your knowledge of the role and its responsibilities. Following your initial induction period, there will be the opportunity to undertake some agile working on agreement with your line manager, office attendance will still be required at least 2 – 3 times a week.
