Assist the Investigators within Professional Standards to carry out proportionate investigations in response to public complaints, and in relation to death or serious injury matters which require referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Assess all public complaints and try to resolve them at the earliest opportunity or prepare a report for the Appropriate Authority to decide on the type of investigation necessary.
Demonstrate the force values at all times. All staff involved in carrying out functions in this role will do so in accordance with the principles of the Code of Ethics. The aim of the Code of Ethics is to support each member of the policing profession to deliver the highest professional standards in their service to the public.
