Job Title: Personal Assistant
Hours: 4 hrs per week, plus extra 4 hours in school holidays.
Hourly rate: £11.30 per hour
Location: At home in LS11 and in the local community.
Purpose of the job:
To be a personal assistant to my son who is 10 years old and has autism spectrum disorder, which means he has limited understanding of the world and how it works.
He is a very energetic boy who loves to make people laugh, going to the park, swimming and general places where children like to have fun. He does however need to be supervised at all time as he has no sense of danger in or outside the home. He uses a wheelchair when we are out and about to keep him safe. He can speak but he doesn’t understand a lot of the words he uses he just repeats what he’s heard/seen.
Your role will be to keep him safe whilst having fun supporting him in accessing social activities, such as swimming, going to the park, trampolining etc.
Tasks:
To arrive at the family home at the time that has been decided, to then take Rey
out to whatever activity has been decided upon, you will need to discuss this with his
mum. You must ensure that he is safe and secure when out and about with you but
also to ensure that he enjoys himself.
My son is still in pads so you will be required to support him with personal care/changing as needed.
Hours of work: You will be expected to work 4 hours a week and 8 hours in school holidays, these can be flexible and can discussed at interview.
