We are currently looking for a Full or Part Time Care Assistant to join our team at Westerley, a reputable residential care home for the elderly. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents and contribute to their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and support to elderly residents, assisting with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
• Monitor and maintain the physical and emotional well-being of residents, including their nutrition and hydration needs.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Support residents with medication administration as per the care plan and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Foster a friendly and supportive environment, engaging in conversation and activities with residents to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and company policies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a care role, preferably in a residential care home or similar environment preferred but not essential as full training provided
• Strong empathy and a genuine interest in working with the elderly, providing person-centered care.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, and colleagues.
• A compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
• A reliable and trustworthy individual who can maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
