Job description
We are currently looking for a qualified VCA to join our friendly team at Gordon Vets in Musselburgh.. This role is 40 hours per week Monday -Friday with occasional Saturdays.
About Us
We are a multisite practice with 3 sites across East Lothian and Mid Lothian. We are a busy practice with a long-standing loyal client base. Our team is made up of 16 vets, 11 Nurses, student nurses and 10 Reception/Admin across 3 sites. We have a strong, experienced team who work well together as a team .
Duties for this role will include;
- Day to day care of in/day patients, including nutrition and husbandry
- Patient Safety
- Feeding/ Hydration of the patients
- Monitoring urination/defaecation
- Completion of patient records
- Infection control
- Laundry
- Unpacking stock
- Surgical Instrument maintenance, cleaning and sterilisation.
- Keeping RVN's up to date with patient changes
- Minimal reception duties.
- Running samples in the lab
Applicant Requirements
- Veterinary/animal Care Qualification. (Or close to qualifying)
- You must be computer literate, able to work under pressure and able to work well within a team
- Proactive and able to use initiative.
