Careers Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) Officer
Salary:
£26,000 p.a
Hours:
35 hours per week (excluding 1 hour unpaid daily lunch break)

Job Location:
The main place of work is Greenbank College, Greenbank Lane, Liverpool. Due to the nature of the role, the jobholder may be required to be flexible in their approach and work at other locations if required.

Job Purpose
- To provide students and external enquirers with information, advice and guidance about Greenbank’s curriculum delivery, courses and progression routes into further education and employment
- To deliver group and individual IAG sessions as required for example, during student enrolment / induction, external recruitment events, college open events and on request throughout the academic year
- To ensure that learner data regarding IAG is up to date and appropriately logged onto college systems
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To manage a caseload of work, including one-to-one and group information, advice and guidance sessions that are appropriate to learner needs. To create action plans to aid learners to prepare for employability, CV development, interview preparation and signposting to internal teams within the college as well as external agencies that can provide further support as required.
- To research careers, pathways, progression opportunities and labour market information to help inform caseload work across the organisation to enable effective delivery of current, accurate and relevant information, advice and guidance
- To review and maintain career related resources and displays used within the college and contribute towards developing new ideas, activities and resources for the service.
- To support at educational and career focused events such as open events, interview evenings etc. Helping to positively promote the college and actively engage with potential students, parents and carers as well as other external agencies to provide relevant information, advice and guidance.
- To assist with guidance and support for curriculum staff so that they are equipped to deliver quality careers programmes and best support recruitment strategies.
- To support, work within and contribute to the achievement of relevant quality frameworks e.g. Matrix standards, Gatsby benchmarks.
- Under the guidance of the Curriculum Manager to collect, present and use data to analyse trends and address student and business needs.
- To keep up to date with legislation as well as professional and academic developments by undertaking self-research and reflection of practice.
- To complete records of work undertaken and maintain electronic files in accordance with Greenbank policy and procedures.
- To undertake administrative duties, maintaining confidential records, monitor, review and evaluate work in line with quality standards.
- To comply with all of Greenbank’s policies and procedures and other legislative requirements.
- To work as part of a team, sharing resource development and promoting good practice; attend team and staff meetings as required.
- To always adhere to Greenbank’s Safeguarding procedures
- To ensure that Greenbank’s code of conduct is adhered to at all times
- To attend training courses and continuing professional development as required
