Job description

About You

If you are passionate about innovative approaches to student delivery and enjoy variety in your work – then this could be for you!

You will need excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a broad range of students. As you will work across multiple schools you must be well organised and able to work flexibly, adapting your style to different student groups.

1-1 careers guidance is a key part in this role, so you must hold or be working towards an appropriate careers guidance/coaching qualification and have experience, ideally with knowledge of Higher Education.

The role will require you to work closely with Careers Consultants and other internal stakeholders, so the ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively is a must.

About The Role

We are seeking three new Careers Coaches to join our innovative and progressive student development team at NTU. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we explore and implement new ways of supporting students and graduates across NTU. We have recently reshaped our team to grow our Career Coach roles, who are key to delivering engaging career development learning in curriculum, as part of our core central offer and 1-1 coaching with students from a broad range of disciplines.

You will be responsible for preparing, delivering and evaluating impactful career and employability learning activities and 1-1 coaching to a wide range of NTU students across multiple schools and student groups.

We are advertising 2 full time positions and 1 part time position (suggested hours 22.5 a week) - however we are open to your suggestions for your preferred working pattern or flexible working arrangements. Please indicate your preferences on your application form.

Closing Date: 11th April 2023

Interview Date: 18th April 2023 (in person - City Campus) - TBC

If you have queries in relation to this position, please contact Becci Hubbard - Employability Services Partnership Manager - via email [email protected].

Ways Of Working

These roles are advertised as full-time, however we are open to alternative working patterns or flexible working arrangements (e.g. term-time only). If you would like to suggest a flexible working pattern, please state any preferred working hours and days in your application.

We work in a hybrid way with the majority of our meetings and some delivery online, however, a lot of your delivery will be on campus so willingness to regularly travel to all campuses is essential.

This role is open to non-UK/Irish applicants subject to current UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) rules. Please ensure that you have the appropriate right to work in the UK for this role and consult the Home Office website for further information.
