Salary: £27,250 - £30,500 pro rata for part time (Grade 5)

What are we looking for?
Futures are recruiting for a Careers Advisers to work as part of the Bedfordshire team, with the ability to travel to Cambridge and Peterborough (desirable). To provide careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) to our customers in a variety of organisations and locations throughout the county.
The successful candidate will have a passion for making a difference to people’s lives and promoting social mobility; supporting customers to remove barriers to employment and training, to access opportunities to progress in the world of work, and to manage their careers. It’s essential for the candidate to have a ‘can-do’, proactive, and flexible style of working.
Through seeking out local labour market information, this role will provide customers with local awareness of opportunities and trends. The successful candidate will promote the service with local partners and organisations, to build the referrals coming through our service. Flexibility, creativity, and the desire to succeed in a target driven environment are key to success in this role.
The successful candidate will have:
- Ideally a qualification to NVQ3, in Careers Information Advice and Guidance, or equivalent (desirable)
- The ability to use technology effectively (word processing, databases, MS TEAMS, email, internet, and social media)
- Experience of IAG (information, advice, and guidance) in supporting customers to progress into work and learning - can be face to face or via the phone and other digital tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills (particularly effective communication, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative skills)
- Knowledge of how to effectively apply for jobs or training – how to write a good CV and supporting job statement
- The ability to manage time and work in a target driven environment whilst maintaining quality standards
- Effective administrative, organisational, and planning skills
- A positive, approachable team player with a can-do attitude
