Job description
Care and Support Workers for Alfie
Full and Part Time roles available
Plymouth
£11.15 per hour
£70 per sleep in
We are currently seeking organised, confident and caring individuals to join a new team supporting Alfie, an Autistic young man who is planning to move from the family home into his own home in the Plymouth area in the near future.
Alfie has a passion for cooking, enjoys watching Netflix and Youtube and has a love for music, particularly listening to Spotify and the radio. He also enjoys art-based activities, time on his iPad playing games and keeping active. You don’t necessarily need any previous experience, but if you share some of Alfie's interests, have a caring and positive attitude and a desire to assist people to live their lives to the full, then this could be the job for you!
Support will initially involve supporting Alfie in the family home as part of a planned transition into his own home in the future. The role will also include support with daily living tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, activities and looking after all health needs, as well as positive mentorship, encouragement and motivation to become as independent as possible.
Family play a big part in Alfie's life, so you will need to build and maintain good relationships and be approachable, professional and respectful with all communication.
We are interested in attitude, values, and the ability to connect with the people we support. We want to create an environment where you feel truly valued and happy in your work, as this contributes to providing outstanding support. We will provide you with the guidance, training and mentorship needed to help you succeed and develop. We also encourage our team to contribute with the development of the wider organisation, providing an opportunity for progression pathways.
You will need to be a driver with a full licence to support Alfie to get out and about in his own vehicle.
