Job Title: Care Support Worker

Pay Rates: £12.35 - £21.51 per hour

About the Trust – Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL), rated ‘Good’ in their most recent CQC report, are the proud providers of acute hospital and community services to the people of the Wigan Borough and surrounding areas. The Trust provides a number of specialist services, including orthopaedic, musculoskeletal (MSK), ophthalmology and rheumatology. Nestled between Manchester and Liverpool, with excellent transport links, WWL is ideally located to enjoy both country and city life.
Popular shift patterns are available, such as 07.30 – 15.30 and 20.45 – 07.45, but our Trusts are open to different start/finish times and lines of work (e.g. short-shifts during school hours).
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
· Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
· Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based care
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
- Care Support Worker/Health Care Assistant experience in a hospital /Hospice setting within the last 2 years.
- Level 2 Care Certificate
- Empathetic and caring nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Maintain acceptable standards of practice
- Flexible in approach to service needs
- Treat people with dignity and respect
- Resilience to deal with potentially distressing situations
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills*
