Purpose of the role:
Coram Voice are recruiting a group of care experienced peer researchers to work with us across the projects we run at Coram Voice and to support the work we do with young people in and leaving care across the country.
You will work closely with the Participation Manager and the Voices Improving Care team. We will work with the successful candidates to provide training about peer research. You must be willing to travel when necessary.
We are specifically looking for care experienced peer researcher to work on LIFT (Life in Transition). The LIFT Project is led by researchers from the University of Bristol, working with colleagues in Coram Voice, the University of Oxford and Queen’s University Belfast. The LIFT Team want to test a short training for Personal Advisors (PAs) to help them better support care leavers’ health and wellbeing.
LIFT is currently testing the training programme in a feasibility trial. LIFT is working with three local authorities and the study will last for 12 months. The purpose of the feasibility trial is to test out the training and our research methods in practice. PAs and care experienced young people will be asked to provide feedback at several stages: before the PAs have received the training, after some the PAs have received the training, 24 weeks after the start of the feasibility trial and 48 weeks after the start of the feasibility trial.
LIFT are looking for care leavers to be a part of interviewing other care leavers whose PAs may or may not have received the training intervention.
