Job Title:
Production Operative – Paint Shop
Responsible To: Paint Shop Supervisor
Post Holders Deputy: Paint Shop Team Leader
Main Purpose of Role:
To prepare components and present in the correct orientation for painting in line with the daily plan. To coat the components effectively in the correct colour to meet customer requirements. To package the components to the correct specification to ensure they reach the customer undamaged and complete
Key Tasks:
Line Feeder
· Present the orders to the paint line in the defined order
· Check for the correct product, quantity and damage
· Strip plastic and create hanging holes
· Identify and record errors
· Move completed pallets to the yard for loading
Loader
· Hang the components on the line in the defines sequence utilising the least space
· Identify and record separate orders and leaving enough space for clean downs and colour changes
Powder Centre Operator
· Prepare the powder for each order
· Clean down the powder cylinder between colours to prevent contamination
· Ensure components are coated as per the specification. Manually coat if required
· Maintain the paint stock register at each colour change and on receipt of powder including storage processes
Unloaded/Packer
· Remove painted components from the line and pack as per the specification
· Check for quantity, coverage, colour and damage
· Identify the number of pallets/packages including sundry items on the paperwork
· Advance the sales/production orders on completion
· Utilise an internal work movement ticket for Harmer parts
· Report errors from feeding processes
· If in doubt seek clarification from supervision
· Support the development of a right first time culture
· Carry out the operator maintenance and housekeeping programmes as required
· Ensure consumables are stored and used effectively
· Ensure housekeeping is at expected standard

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in working in a busy production environment
- Knowledge and understanding of general engineering processes
