Care Assistant- Nights
About Wemyss Lodge:
Wemyss Lodge is a nursing and residential care home which has been open for over 20 years in Stratton St. Margaret Swindon, Wiltshire. Our staff team work in partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents. We have beds providing nursing, respite, dementia, mental health and complex care units. We are within easy reach of shops, local amenities, and close to public transport.
About the Role:
As an experienced Care Assistant on nights, you will be working in the Main Home or in one of the Complex Care units, you will need to show warmth and compassion to our residents and their families, helping to promote independence and positively enhancing their lives because our residents are the heart of everything we do.
To achieve this:
- You must have a positive attitude and be able to work in a person-centred way providing personal care, assisting with meals/fluids.
- Be compassionate and sensitive to our residents and their emotional needs.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, family and health care professionals.
- Our team need to understand dignity, respect and the importance of offering choice.
- Staff should have knowledge of how we are regulated by CQC.
Essential Educational Requirements for Care Assistants:
- Ideal candidates will have experience in Health and Social Care.
- NVQ/Diploma in health and social care or equivalent qualifications desirable
- We would welcome anyone also willing to train and work towards fully funded qualifications.

Job Type:
- Full-time of 36 hours per week
- Day shifts from 8.00pm to 8.00am over seven days, 12 hour shifts
- Overtime is available and paid at enhanced rate
- Bank Holidays paid at enhanced rate (if worked)
