Job description
A Life Skills Facilitator is a unique role for a unique person
At Inspire Neurocare we help people become more independent through rehabilitation. We support younger adults who have had brain injuries, strokes and spinal injuries, or who live with disabilities such as MS. And we’re looking for people who can help us change people’s lives.
More than care assistants, carers or healthcare assistants, Life Skills Facilitators are carers, therapy assistants and companions all in one. They take the time to get to know our residents and are trusted to give each individual the care they need, in the way they like.
Could you be part of our team?
We provide full training and induction, so we’re more interested in you as a person than your specific care experience.
You may have experience as a a healthcare assistant, care assistant, carer, home care assistant or domiciliary care assistant and are looking for a different approach, a nicer work environment and a more satisfying role.
If you have no work experience in care but are interested in helping people live happy lives, we’ll guide you to a fantastic career.
What is important is that you have passion, empathy and dedication to help our residents live their lives to the fullest and achieve their goals. You’ll need to bring a positive attitude, great teamwork and excellent communication skills. We will support you with everything else!
Benefits for our Care Assistants - our Life Skills Facilitators:
- Generous, above market-rate pay.
- Contracted hours - a range of part and full-time hours available
- 12-hour shift patterns
- Wellbeing and lifestyle support for all staff
- Quality bonus scheme linked to CQC Rating
- Refer a Friend Bonus - up to £1500 per referral *T&Cs Apply
Be different – be a Life Skills Facilitator
You’ll be working alongside nurses, therapists and other specialists, in a tight-knit team. The glue that holds the team together are our Life Skills Facilitators.
- A varied role where no two days are the same. Our residents have a wide variety of needs and Life Skills Facilitators care for each person as an individual. We don’t do timetabled task-based care – we get to know our residents and support them with what they need to be more independent. Whether that’s being involved in therapy sessions, helping someone tidy their room or make their bed, arranging a family meal with their loved ones, or helping them paint their nails, you’ll always be doing something different.
- Supportive team environment. Our close-knit team relies on each other’s experience and expertise to ensure the best outcomes for our residents. And our management encourages an environment where all members of the team are listened to and supported.
- A chance to challenge yourself and make a real difference to our residents’ lives. Life Skills Facilitators are encouraged to be much more involved in planning care than healthcare assistants, support workers and carers might be in other settings. You will be a respected, valued member of the team and will work closely with our nurses and therapists on care plans.
- Excellent opportunities for learning and development. Our residents have such a range of needs that you can’t avoid learning something new every day. On top of this, we will support you with all the training you need, including NVQ qualifications and further clinical training.
- A career with progression. Life Skills Facilitators with that extra ‘something special’ can progress to a Lead Life Skills Facilitator role, heading up a team. We’re dedicated to growing our own and, to date, all our Leads have come from internal promotions.
