Balloo House Care Home is a 30 bed private family owned residential care home for the frail and elderly whom are over 65, we strive to ensure our residents benefit from a home from home environment.
Balloo House is currently seeking both part time and full time care assistant for days or nights.
our care assistants require patience, a sense of humour and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds and walks of life. They will form close working/personal relationships with clients and must be able to sustain that bond – possibly one of the most important relationships their resident has in their daily life. Our Care assistants work with people in highly vulnerable positions and so kindness and empathy are important qualities. A caring personality is essential.
key Responsibilities:
- Helping our residents with personal support and care,
- Looking after the physical comfort of residents, for example helping them to wash themselves.
- To encourage clients to remain as independent as possible.
- promoting emotional and social support providing a range of activities such as going out for shopping trips, coffee mornings, in home activities such as bingo,cards,movie nights.
- serving meals to residents
- Administering medication (full training provided)
- Answering the door and telephone appropriately.
Requirements:
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually;
- Must have a caring nature.
- Good stamina
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Shift patterns: 8-2/2-8/8-8/8-6 (days) weekend on weekend off. ND 8pm-8am (awake)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-42 per week
