Located on the sea front of Mumbles, overlooking Swansea Bay, Ocean Living is a small family run residential care home for the elderly for 14 residents.

Being small enables us to provide individual and personalised care, whilst maintaining an intimate yet exclusive home for our clients. Ocean Living has been developed and designed specifically for luxury senior care living, with generous room sizes, opulent interior design, magnificent en suites and comfort all around.

Everything at Ocean Living is designed to feel like home. Comfort is all around you. The lounge is cosy with large sofas and armchairs nestled in little break out areas, making it easy to meet, talk and reminisce with friends.

We work in partnership with commissioners to deliver responsive, flexible, specialist support in our registered residential care settings in The Mumbles & Ty Coch. Our individual personal plans aim to provide the people we support with more choice and control over their own lives, our staff are our heroes.

Job Description

Duties include:

  • To assist with the general support of the residents as per their personal plans and needs assessment. Support their personal development through the implementation of individual personal plans and monitor them.
  • To assist with intimate personal care such as personal dressing, personal hygiene, bathing and offer support in a sensitive manner, taking account of the abilities and health & emotional needs of the individual and support them through change and transitions.
  • To work closely with other colleagues and co-operate with statutory bodies and other local services to maintain a high standard of service.
  • To liaise with families, friends, advocates, external agencies, and the staff team to provide a consistent approach that meets individual needs.
  • Help to improve the quality of life for individuals and assist people to utilise/maximise their own skills and development.
  • To participate in ongoing training in line with our policies. Successfully complete medication training, as well as to take and pass a medication proficiency test after training has been received.
  • To assist in maintaining accurate records i.e., finances, resident’s personal records, health, and safety, monitoring records and any other necessary paperwork in agreement with the registered manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.40 per hour

Experience:

  • working with the elderly: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • QCF Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care (preferred)

  • Night shift (preferred)
  • Overnight shift (preferred)

Work Location: One location
