Home Instead is an award-winning care provider caring for older people in our community who have been “left behind”, feeling lonely and isolated. Our emphasis is on slow, authentic care that improves a person's quality of life in a holistic way. Based in Warminster Wiltshire, our mission is to enhance the lives of people living with the challenges of ageing so that they can feel a sense of belonging and respected as valuable members of our community. We are looking for Care Assistants to support us in this mission.
As Care and Support Assistants, we spend time with our clients finding out what their dreams and wishes and determine how we can improve their quality of life. We are introduced to individuals who match our skills, personality and interests and visit them on regular days for more than 1 hour on each visit. We address basic personal care needs, but also design activities to keep people active and confident, as well as help them to keep involved in the community. We are supported by a great team, helping us with ideas and encouragement.
The Care and Support Assistant role includes:
- Visiting regular people in the community for a minimum of 1 hour
- Supporting with a variety of needs including personal care, keeping socially and physically active and offering a listening ear.
- Designing care plans and implementing creative ideas to encourage a better quality of life.
- Communicating with families and nurses as part of the care team.
- Participating in team meetings to support each other in our roles.

Typical shifts available:
- 7.15am to 12pm
- 12pm to 5pm
- 5pm to 9:45pm

What you need:
- Experience in supporting an older person in a personal or professional capacity is preferred but not essential.
- You will have a passion for helping others and pride yourself on finding creative ways to improve a person's life.
- You will be reliable, trustworthy, compassionate and respectful.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Available to work every other weekend
