About us
We are looking for an Energy and Carbon Manager to join our team and play a significant role in positively shifting our environmental impact through the decarbonisation of our operations.
You will be responsible for embedding and driving the implementation of the RNLI Zero Carbon by 2050 aligned with the Sustainability vision and ambition, and the 2050 strategy by working collaboratively, providing specialist technical expertise to sustainably decarbonise operations.

Your role
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of activity from energy contract and invoice management, performance, and reporting, as well as compliance with energy and carbon statutory reporting and legislation, (including ESOS) through to leading, developing and implementing plans to improve the performance in energy and carbon management across all aspects of the RNLI.
About you
We are looking for someone with Project Management experience to progress identification, measure, report on and reduce emissions across operations and activities. You will specifically be supporting the Engineering Project Management to investigate new low-carbon technologies and alternative asset propulsion and assist with our large estate portfolio, with unique buildings in complex environments.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in facilities and experience in supporting the optimisation of the BMS (Building Management Systems) and reviewing energy efficiency of plant and equipment.
The workload is exciting, varied and rewarding. This role requires both hands-on skills as well as operating in a strategic space and will need experience from both ends of the spectrum and confident switching between. The right person will be collaborative and engaging, enjoys and understands the complexities of working in a third sector organisation and is capable of managing a number of simultaneous tasks. This person needs to have a pragmatic and positive attitude and communicate excellently and work well with people internally and externally, staff, crew and volunteers.
