An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, proactive, and efficient individual to join Healthworks to drive transformation as well as value for money in cancer planning, commissioning and service provision.
About Us
Healthworks is a national award-winning charity working with disadvantaged local communities to tackle health inequalities and improve their health and wellbeing through social prescribing. Based in Newcastle, but working across the region for over 27 years, our patron is Professor Michael Marmot. Our work has been recognised by a King’s Fund/GSK award for our work improving the physical and mental health of people across the North East of England.
We work in partnership with NHS and Local Authority colleagues and communities in many sectors to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.
The Northern Cancer Alliance represents an integration of all stakeholders in cancer services for its population of 3.1 million people. The Northern Cancer Alliance consists of statutory and non-statutory bodies but is not a statutory organisation in its own right.
The Northern Cancer Alliance will adopt a whole-population, whole-pathway approach to addressing the ambitions of the Cancer Strategy. It will work across its geographical footprint to transform services and care, reducing variation in the availability of good care and the outcomes of treatment while aiming to deliver continuous improvement in patient experience, and reductions in health inequalities.
This post will be hosted by Healthworks and funded by and working to the objectives of NCA.
