Permanent, part-time position. 32.5 hours per week. Shift pattern will be: 6am-1pm working 5 over 7 days.
Campus Cleaning Services provides cleaning across 7,076 campus bedrooms, 479 hotel rooms and 65 University buildings.
We are looking for a supervisor to join the Campus Cleaning Services team within the Estates Department. The role requires you to work with, organise and lead a team of Cleaning Assistants to provide an effective and efficient cleaning service across the University campus.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The Supervisor will work with, organise and lead a team of Cleaning Assistants to provide an effective and efficient cleaning service across the University campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Allocating duties to staff on a planned or daily basis to cover for changing business needs.
2. Ensuring that a high level of customer care is provided by the team and acting as a first point of contact to assist students, staff and visitors to the University including lost property.
3. Carrying out cleaning duties for an allocated area of work to an agreed standard at different times throughout the year and monitoring the work of the team to ensure that they are meeting the agreed standards.
4. Supervision of team to include monitoring standards, recording absence, carrying out return to work interviews, DPRs, authorising holidays. Raising any issues regarding staff welfare/ performance/support with the Assistant Campus Cleaning Services Manager.
5. Issuing, collecting and maintaining the safekeeping of keys, cards and fobs within area of responsibility.
6. Informing Estates helpdesk of any maintenance issues, keeping records and following up to ensure that they are rectified.
7. Supervising the operation of the in-house laundry, and laundry provision and resources on campus.
8. Supporting and assisting the University to meet their environmental and recycling targets by ensuring that the team promote the various recycling opportunities in their area to staff and students.
9. Compiling requests for cleaning material and consumable orders to ensure that there are sufficient supplies including distribution to staff. Keeping accurate records of stock levels/receipts/issues of cleaning materials.
10. Carrying out Health and Safety audits to ensure that staff are adhering to the departmental Safe Methods of Work. Also monitoring safe use and care of equipment. Carry out inspections of PPE and cleaning cupboards.
11. Assisting with show rounds for internal or external customers, including contractors.
12. Monitoring the Universities UK “codes of practice” notices within the department.
