Lomond Campers is a small campervan manufacturer building high quality camper vans from our workshop in Glenrothes, Fife.
As we expand we are looking for a self-motivated person who has the skill set to turn an empty van into a customer's dream campervan.
Although job-specific training will be given for this role, we are looking for an applicant with relevant experience that will mean they will be quickly up-to-speed and confidently working alone.
You will complete a wide variety of work on campervans including the fitting of elevating roofs and windows, electrical, plumbing, heating, joinery, mechanical and finishing work.

The essential skills for this post must include:
- Experienced and confident in the use of various cordless power tools
- Experienced and confident in metal work- cutting and finishing using recip saws and grinders
- Willingness to develop the diverse skills necessary to build campervans
- A very good eye for detail
- Takes pride in all work undertaken
- Ability and confidence to work alone
- Positive attitude
- Reliable with good time-keeping
Desirable criteria (Require at least 2 of):
- Previous leisure vehicle building or repair experience
- Mechanical experience
- Electrical knowledge & experience (12v and 240v)
- Woodworking experience
- Carpet lining experience
Job Description:
Removal of fittings i.e. seats, seat belts, bulkheads, roof linings etc. ready for conversion.
Cutting holes in vehicles for the installation of pop top roofs, windows, hook up points and drop out vents.
Fitting of pop top roofs and windows.
Lining the vehicle with insulation materials, plywood lining and then lining carpet finishing. Fitting of plywood floor and floor lino.
Fitting of steel framed beds and diesel night heaters.
Building up of CNC cut units from laminated plywood using various materials and hardware such as aluminum profiles, hinges, catches and drawer runners.
Fitting of units and appliances.
Fitting of exterior vinyl decals.
Final finishing and cleaning in readiness for customer collection.
You will be expected to keep the workplace clean and tidy including the sorting and storing of stock of materials and vehicles.
We expect that the candidate will have their own set of basic tools. We provide job-specific tools.
You will be operating various power tools including routers and will use a large amount of both floor-standing and cordless power tools, so you must be comfortable using a wide range of tools as well as being aware and safety conscious of their dangers.
The job will initially involve a training and trial period after which you will be expected to quickly be working alone using your own initiative.
This list is not exhaustive and the employee will be asked to undertake other tasks necessary to complete work for customers.
£10.50 - £12.50 per hour depending on experience, with an annual review.
