Job description
Are you a people person? Can you keep things running smoothly?
Ebury is the UK’s largest dedicated non-fiction publisher, home to authors ranging from Yotam Ottolenghi to Caitlin Moran to Charlie Mackesy. We are a dynamic and agile team, constantly discovering new talent, creating bestsellers, and growing author brands. This is a brilliant first step into campaigns, and the publishing industry.
The opportunity
We’re looking for a super organised Campaigns Assistant to support our fast-moving campaigns teams, across our Self and Smart hubs. These hubs publish across smart-thinking and big ideas, as well as personal development and wellbeing. Our authors include Michael Rosen, Dara McAnulty, Caitlin Moran, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brené Brown, Wim Hof and Fearne Cotton.
You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative and friendly team, assisting in the planning and execution of campaigns, and the varied day-to-day running of a busy department. You’ll ensure that the teams have everything they need to engage readers and drive sales, from preparing for meetings and travel arrangements, diary management, processing invoices, updating databases that feed through to our suppliers and organising mailouts.
In short, you’ll be the point person for the team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your feet wet in a busy campaigns team. You’ll learn how to deal with press enquiries, run digital ads, and write promotional materials. You’ll build your network and work collaboratively with internal teams such as production, editorial, sales and rights, as well as advertising agencies, influencers and the media.
What you’ll bring
You’ll enjoy engaging in the world around you, whether that’s pop culture or news, you’ll have a meticulous eye for detail, and you’ll thrive on talking with a huge range of people.
You'll have:
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, juggling multiple projects at once
- Keen attention to detail
- An interest in developing your career in communications, and in learning about different communications tools and best practice – always thinking about how to use these to improve what we do
- Confidence in your approach and ability to represent the team in inter-departmental meetings, and to drive and support projects that align with team strategy
- Passion about cultural conversation, the news agenda and trend-spotting, and confidence in sharing opinions and ideas
- Great communications skills and be open to connecting and building relationships with lots of different people across the company
How to apply
If that sounds like you, please apply with a CV and covering letter by 23:59 on Monday 29th May. As part of your covering letter, tell us about a campaign you've seen recently and why it caught your attention (within 200 words). This does not need to be book related.
