Job description
YMCA Camp Williams is our longest running school holiday camp programme for young people, held every school break from the Emmanuel School, West Bridgford. We are recruiting for our Summer Holiday intake of Camp Leaders to start 31st July 2023.
Encompassing a variety of indoor and outdoor sports, group games, artistic projects, and traditional camp activities such as rallies and campfire songs Camp Williams is a place where children ages 4 to 15, from all backgrounds and walks of life, can come together to form new positive friendships, learn new skills, and build confidence.
As a Camp Leader, we are looking for you to get involved with the running of the programme events, ensuring the children are well looked after, engaged, supported and most importantly having fun!
Youll inspire young people to develop their own creativity, self-esteem and to value integrity, respect and collaboration with others. We divide up the children into age groups and have different, age relevant activities planned for the day.
It high energy, intense and jam-packed full of fun!
You are going to have as much fun as the children in your care. This role would suit someone looking to gain experience with working with children, to support your current studies or career progression by gaining substantial and meaningful experience through the school holidays.
Students, recent graduates, teacher and others working term times/weekend only find Camp Williams a brilliant way to spend some or all of their school holidays.
We are also happy for you to return to work for us each school holiday and become a long-term member of our Camp team!
We operate through every Nottingham City Council school holiday, based from the Emmanuel School, West Bridgford.
The camp day is 7.30am to 6pm and we operate Monday to Friday.
We would also need you to commit for whole weeks for consistency of the children in our care. We love seeing Camp Leaders return each holiday and would be able to give some level of commitment to ongoing hours over an academic year.
Please note, you must be over 18 to apply for this role. If you are under 18, please check out our Junior Camp Leader role where you can progress into being a Camp Leader once you turn 18
