Cafe Assistant
Duties:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers in a timely and friendly manner
- Take customer orders and ensure accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including tables, chairs, and serving stations
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, assembling sandwiches, and baking pastries
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
- Assist with catering events, including setting up tables, arranging food displays, and serving guests
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of food items
- Collaborate with other cafe staff members to maintain a smooth workflow
Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe setting is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order taking and food preparation
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
