You will join our Offshore Wind department
As our new Junior CAD Technician you will be part of Ramboll’s Offshore Wind team consisting of over 200 professionals. Innovative thinking and years of experience have made Ramboll the world leader in the design of offshore structures. Operating primarily from 6 offices in Denmark, Germany and the UK along with colleagues worldwide including Poland, India, China, Japan and the USA, the offshore wind team support offshore projects around the world, delivering the full suite of services required to develop an offshore windfarm including the design for offshore wind turbine support structures and foundations. Having completed the detailed design of over 60 offshore wind farms, you will join a team with a wealth of experience in to draw upon and learn from. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Prepare project-specific detailed and complex 3D models and 2D drawings, representing large steel structures such as monopile or jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines
- Prepare manufacturing plans and section overviews for individual components such as profiles and weld details, as well as complete structural assemblies, n close collaboration with the design engineers,
- Ensure models and drawings are prepared in accordance with the required standards and procedures to ensure high quality final drawings
- Assist the project teams in bid invitations by implementing conceptual designs and generating various project-specific design drawings, such as sketches, 2D/3D drawings, collision design in 3D and similar
- Further develop and maintain internal CAD standards and manuals, as well as develop optimised ways of building 3D models and exporting 2D drawings
- Closely collaborate with other Ramboll units worldwide, ensuring streamlined and optimised working and quality-assurance procedures
- Take part in internal development activities to continuously improve and optimise our design

- Successfully completed training as a draftsman, design engineer, technical draftsman or CAD specialist
- 2D and 3D design knowledge as a technical draftsman in the construction industry in the area of steel, metal or plant construction, preferably knowledge in the design area of supporting structures
- Proficient in 3D CAD design, e.g., with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or comparable software packages
- Keen interest or prior experience in architectural / structural steel design and / or fabrication or other complex structures / components
- Fluent in both written and spoken English, especially technical vocabulary for drawing preparation
- High integrity and team spirit, proactively engaging with others and offering support when required
- Effectively prioritize and carry out assignment, also under time constraints
- Excellent communication skills and proactive, analytical approach to assignments
