About The Role
We currently have an opportunity for a CAD Technician to join our engineering design team in Gateshead. Now is the time to join Richter, as we continue to expand our business you will not only train alongside experts within our industry but have the real opportunity to grow your career.
You will be the given the opportunity to work on a broad range of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Work as part of the design team, seek supervision where necessary and be prepared to lead the work of other team members as required.
- Ensure all your drafting output is in accordance with company procedures and CAD standards.
- Effectively communicate with other engineers and technicians in the design team.
- Ably prepare and modify technical drawings and schedules of a moderate level of complexity based on designs supplied by Engineers.
- Effectively use the drafting tools and software a technician has at their disposal such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microstation.
- Develop Revit/Synchro and other advanced CAD and BIM skills as part of professional development.
- Issue drawings to engineers and manage electronic information including preparation and issue of drawing and document schedules.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil/Structural Engineering or a relevant subject.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of technical drawing using CAD in a consultancy environment.
- Good level of knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering drafting and practice, particularly Temporary Works.
- Ability to read and understand “multi-discipline” drawings and create general arrangement drawings and detail under the guidance of an Engineer.
- Good understanding of civil and structural engineering terminology.
- Ability in the use of at least one common engineering CAD software package such AutoCAD, REVIT or Microstation.
