Job description
Responsibility:
As a CAD technician, you will be responsible for reviewing the accuracy of 3D computer models provided by others, based on information provided.
Specifications:
- The ability to understand/interpret architectural drawings.
- Have a basic understanding of 3D modelling with preferable experience utilising AutoCAD (or other Autodesk/similar 3D packages)
- Checking information packages received from clients to ensure sufficient information has been provided for each job.
- Carry out research of each site to obtain architectural drawings so that you may model each property as accurately as possible.
- Produce 2D technical plots in AutoCAD + produce basic 3D rendered images of each site.
- Attend site visits with other technicians/surveyors to take accurate measurements so that you may use this information for your modelling and take the necessary photographs.
- Check other technicians work to ensure that all assets have been modelled correctly and that all massing has been positioned correctly and in the correct orientation
About you:
The successful candidate will preferably have experience dealing with rights of light analysis models and will therefore have experience in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD however applicants with experience in other 3D packages will still be considered for the roll. The models that you will produce and review will be basic however accuracy is key, this means accuracy in not just modelling but also the positioning of each model in terms of elevation and orientation. A keen eye for detail is also required especially when attending site visits so that you can gather as much information as possible whilst on site, this means taking necessary photographs + taking measurements.
The successful candidate should also have good communication skills as you will regularly attend site visits with technicians/surveyors from different companies. On these visits you will be going into different clients homes to take photographs + measurements that you will use to base your modelling on.
