Job description
We are looking for a cabling engineer to join our projects team. The ideal candidate will undertake projects to industry standards in a professional manner and within agreed timescales. You will use initiative when faced with a problem, be proactive and liaise with customers in a courteous and helpful manner. Whilst our office is based in Cranleigh, Surrey you will be predominantly working around London.
The Role and Responsibility:
- Interacting with customers in a respectful, courteous, and positive manner
- Demonstrate strong commitment to customer service
- Proactively develop knowledge and skill specific to enablesIT customer environments
- The installation of cat5e, cat6, voice and fibre cabling
- Testing and labelling adhering to industry standards
- Splicing and terminating fibre optic cables
- Completing all relevant Health and Safety paperwork, such as risk assessments and ensuring Health and Safety regulations are always adhered to
- Ensuring tools and PPE are used and maintained
- Ensuring all sign off paperwork is completed and handed into the customer service team
- Submission of completion and handover documentation
- Ensure all information is handled within company, ISO and legislative guidelines

Experience:
- Skill in areas of:
- Cable pulling and routing techniques
- Containment (trunking, traywork and conduit)
- Flexibility to complete projects on time
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and within a team
- To enjoy working with customers and building relationships
- Well-spoken and smart appearance
- To be well-organised and thorough, even under pressure
- Able to prioritise and use initiative
- A positive attitude
Qualifications:
Please note, criminal record clearance at an enhanced level is required for this post.
Essential:
- 2 years experience of data and voice cabling
- Knowledge and understanding of cabling installation standards; fibre and copper testing; copper and fibre optic termination
- CSCS/ECS holder or willingness to obtain
- Clean driving licence
Ideal:
- H&S Risk Assessment Training/First Aid Appointed Person
- Customer service training
- Relevant Degree or equivalent
- Experience working within a managed service provider
